2013

Following up the very fine 2012 vintage, the 2013 depiction re-affirmed our conviction that this vineyard site is truly special. While the expression differs in that the 2013 vintage’s framework is larger, the elite pedigree and exceptional finesse of the vineyard are once again undeniable.

For 2013, we selected “A Roomful of Matisse” by Brian Nash, 36″ x 48″, Acrylic on canvas.

A Dartmouth MBA and former Director of Retail and Marketing at Polo Ralph Lauren in New York, Brian traded that life for art and music in Nashville. A prolific artist who’s work is vibrant and playful, with a stated goal of making the viewer smile. We love this attitude, and think that the color and energy of the work translates beautifully to the label segments.

Brian Nash passed away in May 2020.

2013 produced a hedonistic, rich, and more structured depiction than the inaugural 2012. The tightly-spaced vineyard, sited in the stoniest part of a fabled rocky neighborhood dutifully gave up very small berries which yielded intensely flavored wine. Barrel fermented and aged in new French oak for 18 months, then bottle aged for an additional year, this wine is built to gracefully accept decades of aging.
